North Main Association is looking for vendors and sponsors to be a part of the 19th Farmers Market.
With the Downtown Sheridan Association unable to hold the Farmers Market on Grinnell Plaza due to the ongoing construction on Sheridan’s Main Street, the North Main Association has stepped up to take over the event for the season.
NMA Executive Director Nancy Drummond said the board of the association met with community members and previous vendors, and it was decided to have the Farmers Market at Whitney Commons to keep it in the Downtown area to help support the businesses downtown during construction.
The Farmers Market will be held beginning at 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday June 22, through Sept. 14, at Whitney Commons. Drummond told listeners of Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program they are seeking vendors that produce handmade and homegrown items to participate.
According to Drummond, organizers will consider other types of vendors that do not meet those criteria on a case-by-case basis.
Booth fees are $15 per week or $175 flat fee for the whole summer. Drummond said there is plenty of room left for vendors and sponsors who wish to take part in the market.
