The entrance of Yellowstone National Park that’s closest to Sheridan is opening up to motor vehicle traffic.
The East Entrance to the park and the road from that point to Fishing Bridge, is scheduled to open on Friday (May 5th), weather permitting.
Other roads scheduled to open include from Canyon Village to Lake Village.
Motorists are advised that temporary road closures could happen in the Sylvan Pass area, because of increased avalanche danger, from recent snowfall and warm temperatures.
The south entrance to the park is scheduled to open on Friday, May 12th, as well as every other road in the park that has not yet opened, except the road that goes over Dunraven Pass, which isn’t scheduled to open until Memorial Day weekend.
