Fire Prevention Defrayment Costs Resolution Approved by City Council

The City Council approved a resolution to defray $3,000 of the costs for downtown business owners for fire prevention by the extension of a fire suppression water service line that will be installed during the Main Street construction project. According to the resolution that was approved, the buildings located along Main Street in downtown lack the necessary infrastructure to install fire mitigation sprinkler systems so it is significantly easier and cheaper to install water stubs necessary for a fire mitigation sprinkler system during the Main Street construction project.

WYDOT has identified 21 property owners in the downtown area who intend to install fire mitigation sprinkler systems. The resolution, passed by a vote of 4 to 2. Councilors Andrew Patceg and Kristen Jennings voted against the resolution. Councilman Patceg.
