Aaron PalmerDuring a quick meeting of the Sheridan County Commission Tuesday, they approved and accepted the bid award for the 2023 Congestion Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ) project.
According to information provided by the county, a letter from the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) concurred with the county’s recommendation to accept and award the contract for the project to Oxford, Inc. of Wyoming.
The amount of the contract is just over $392,000.
In December of 2022 the county was awarded just over $250,000 in federal funds for the program, with the local match of nearly $63,000 to total roughly $314,000 for the 2023 CMAQ program.
At that commission meeting, County Engineer Ken Muller explained how the county will make up the difference in funding.
Muller said the county can also pull from their other chloride programs to make up the difference if needed.
