The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) has applied for funding through a Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity, or RAISE grant from the federal government.

The Sheridan County Commission, at their recent regular meeting, ratified a Letter of Support for the grant application.

The funding is for the US87/WYO335/Coffeen Avenue project that, according to the application, will increase safety and restore deteriorating road and bridge facilities.

The project will also improve bicyclist and pedestrian access by extending the existing pathway south of Sheridan College, connecting neighborhoods on the city’s south side to the city’s pathway system.

The letter of support was addressed to US Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg.
