Aaron PalmerState Representative Barry Crago and State Senator Dave Kinskey, in their weekly updates from the legislative session, discussed the Crossover Voting law currently moving through the legislature, giving their opinion on the proposed law that is headed to Governor Mark Gordon’s desk for his signature.
Crago questioned how necessary the legislation really is.
He did say that however, it is an issue that people in the state want the legislature to address.
He said he isn’t sure what will happen once it hits the governor’s desk.
Kinskey explained what the proposed law is trying to change.
Kinskey said he is supportive of the legislation, believing that when candidates file for elections, the voters, in whatever party they are affiliated with at that time, should be locked into that ballot in the primary election, to prevent any possible issues in Wyoming’s elections.
House Bill 103 passed the vote of the Senate Friday and will now head to the governor’s desk for consideration.

This legislation is a joke people like me that our independence will change our affiliation to become a republican because that is the most prominent party in Wyoming. However, as an independent, I registered to be a Republican for Mark Gordon and crossover voting. I will stay Republican but still will continue to vote for the best person for the job, in the general election, you can vote for either party and I will vote for the best person not a party waste of taxpayers money. And for this bill.

This is how communist China extinguished democracy in once democratic Hong Kong. After getting their chosen candidates into office, they then mandated that only “good party members” could run or vote in elections. Say goodbye to any illusions about the Wyoming GOP valuing democracy or independent thinking. The only real question is what’s the end goal. Looks to me like religious orthodoxy – party approved books (ban the others!), party approved history, and party approved sex roles. And party bosses that rule. My 3 generations of Wyoming ancestors would be appalled.

Dennis….let not your heart be troubled…the GOP on a national level is in deep decline due to it’s own agenda while a more prominent “independent party” will emerge across the USA…as usual and like always the politicians in Wyoming will be the last to take notice of the fact.

We have the same problem with “cross-over” candidates and legislators. Imposters who are died-in-the-wool liberals, but run as Republicans. Let’s face it, if you get a degree in liberal arts and environmental “science” from an East-coast, Ivy league school, you’re probably a liberal dumb-a-crat….Not a Republican.
