Aaron PalmerState Representative Cyrus Western (R-House District 51, Sheridan County) spoke with Sheridan Media this week about happenings at the current legislative session in Cheyenne.
He spoke about Senate File 61 (SF0061) that will increase the per diem rates paid to lawmakers.
He explained the bill further, and why he voted against it.
Western was asked if the current per diem rate is sufficient to cover lawmakers’ costs associated with their duties.
Western said it is certainly possible to fit lodging and food expenses within the current per diem rates.
Senate File 61 was passed by a joint conference committee last Friday.
