The Advocacy & Resource Center’s largest fundraiser, Love Shouldn’t Hurt, will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at the Ramada in Sheridan. The night will feature live music by the Dueling Pianos and Sidetrack.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program Advocacy and Resource Center Executive Director Yvonne Swanson told listeners that due to budget cuts at the state and federal level, this yearly fundraiser has become much more critical to the center.

Federal and state funding also come with stipulations on what the money can be used to purchase. Some resources needed by victims who have fled from abusive situations cannot be paid for with these funds by regulation. Love Shouldn’t Hurt is a fundraiser that also helps fund these vital items that help victims they support.

Swanson told listeners of Public Pulse, Love shouldn’t Hurt is a celebration as well as a fundraiser. This year, Love Shouldn’t Hurt is celebrating healthy relationships and ticket holders can attend wearing whatever they wish.
