Wyoming Game and Fish wildlife biologists and wardens are using the month of February to put together hunting season proposals for this fall. In March, Game and Fish will hold a series of open house meetings which will be followed by a formal season setting meeting later that month.

The Game and Fish Department holds season setting meetings each spring to present proposed changes to regulations, season lengths, license allocations, and other proposals for the coming fall to hunters and the general public.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, Wyoming Game and Fish Public Information Specialist Christina Schmidt gave listeners a summary of the upcoming meetings.

According to Scmidt, the first meetings will be a series of open houses held throughout the region. During these events, Game and Fish game wardens and biologists will provide information about local herd units and proposed seasons. They will also be available to visit with hunters, landowners and other participants to answer questions and listen to feedback and opinions on the proposals.

During the week of the meeting, presentations from each district biologist will be posted online, explaining the proposals for their specific work area. There will also be printed copies of the proposals available at the open houses.
