Aaron PalmerBuffalo native and former NFL player Chris Prosinski will be attending a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Buffalo Boys & Girls Club of the Bighorns building.
The ceremony will be Monday, February 24th at 10:30 that morning at the building site at 189 N. Cedar in Buffalo.
According to a release from the Boys & Girls Club, the building was purchased in2018 and will be renovated to include a teen center, gymnasium, kitchen, a quiet space for homework and reading, a game room, cafeteria, and tech center encompassing 10,000 square feet of space.
A fundraising campaign is currently underway for the $1.2 million construction project, with $925,000 already pledged by the Buffalo and Johnson County community.
The opening of the new facility is expected to be in the fall of 2020.
Prosinski, according to the release, played high school football at Buffalo High School, college football at the University of Wyoming, and was drafted by the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars in 2011.
He also played for the Philadelphia Eagles and Chicago Bears during his NFL career.
