Sheridan Woman Arraigned on Forgery, Theft Charges

An arraignment hearing was held Tuesday in Fourth Judicial District Court for 36-year-old Mindee Rieger of Sheridan. In September, Rieger was arrested and charged with felony forgery for allegedly attempting to pass a check not in her name and with a forged signature. She was also charged with misdemeanor theft for not paying for $65.23 in gasoline at Holiday Gas Station on North Main in Sheridan. Rieger pleaded not guilty to both of the charges at Tuesday’s hearing.
District Court Judge Darci Phillips set the three-day jury trial for April 24, 2023. The trial is a #3 stack trial, meaning there are two other trials scheduled for the same date. A pretrial conference will take place in District Court on March 21 at 10 am. The crime of felony forgery is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of no more than $10,000. Misdemeanor theft is punishable by up to six-months in jail and a fine of up to $750.
