Highway Patrol: New Drivers Are Learning in Winter Weather

The winter driving conditions on Tuesday morning in northeast Wyoming were a look into what can be expected over the next few months, and Wyoming Highway Patrol Lt. Eric Jorgensen wanted to remind the public that new drivers are still learning how to get around when road conditions are less than ideal.
While a guest on our talk show Public Pulse, Lt. Jorgensen said kids are uneasy when winter weather affects the roads.
Jorgensen reminded drivers of all ages that during wintery weather go slow, start to slow down early and don’t wait to slow down until the last minute to avoid a slide, increase following distances, take your time and don’t get in a hurry, and to give yourself extra time to get to your destination.
