Motorists traveling in the Big Horn Mountains near Burgess Junction could encounter a delay in one section of the highway.
WYDOT says road work on an 8-mile section of US Highway 14 between Burgess Junction and Cutler Hill will begin on Monday, September 19th.
The work will begin on the west side of the project near Burgess Junction (mile marker 57.27) and move eastward towards mile marker 65.01.
Work is scheduled to be performed from 7am until 7pm, during which time motorists will encounter flagging operations, a pilot car, reduced speed limits and one lane of travel.
Both lanes of travel will be open at night with areas of milled surface.
Milling operations are expected to take approximately a week to complete at which time paving will follow.
Due to the nature of paving operations on mountain roadways, weather can be a limiting factor on the nature and scope of work each day and may result in days of no work being performed.
The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of October.
