Sheridan Memorial Hospital celebrates opening of Transitional Care 

Sheridan Memorial Hospital and The Foundation have announced the official opening of the new Transitional Care Unit – right here in Sheridan. 

According to SMH, the expansion of the transitional care services meets the changing needs of their patients and is an investment in healthcare for the future of our community and the region.

The new Transitional Care space on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the hospital building was opened to patients on Sept. 12, and includes 20 private suites, each with its own bathroom. A separate dining area and spacious therapy gym – both with views of the Big Horn Mountains, making the 15,600 square feet space a welcome expansion from the hospital’s current 8-bed unit. 

The response from the community in support of the new Transitional Care Expansion is truly remarkable, according to Director of Donor Relations, Ada Kirven. 

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, Chief Development Officer Cody Sinclair told the community it would not have been possible without them and the support the TCU and Staff have received. 

According to Sinclair, the hospital is thrilled to be repurposing these floors of the main hospital and see patients return to this space that was originally used to care for the community members when the hospital opened in 1954.
