Pat BlairRon Mischke, who’s a former member of the Sheridan Memorial Hospital board of trustees, spoke on the importance of service at the state level at the hospital trustees’ meeting earlier this week.
Hospital CEO Mike McCafferty said Mischke served on the hospital board for more than a decade before retiring last summer.
McCafferty said Mischke was in fact chair of the state board for some time.
Mischke talked to the Sheridan hospital board about his leadership and service experience, seeking to encourage more of the local board members to get involved at the state level.
McCafferty said there is a state governance training program called Best on Boards, and most of Memorial Hospital’s trustees have been through training and certification through that program. He said it’s important to guide policy and governance issues associated with hospital and health care systems.
