The Buffalo City Council renewed the contract with St. Francis Animal Shelter for them to provide services for the city for the current fiscal year.

According to Kathy Day, with the SFAS, who spoke at the council’s Tuesday meeting, there were a few changes to this year’s contract.

The contract specifies the city will pay the shelter $1,500 per month for services relating to animal control, housing, and other services for dogs and cats that are picked up by the Buffalo Police Department or the Animal Control Officer.

Although the contract was passed Tuesday, it is good through the fiscal year ending June 30 of 2023.
