Buffalo Chamber Looking to Restructure

A release from the Wyoming State Chamber of Commerce Thursday on behalf of the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce has acknowledged the local chamber has some problems and they are working to correct them and move forward.
The release said two chamber board members had resigned, leaving only Ron Roman and Jamie Bashum on a board that normally has nine members.
An employee of the chamber also resigned at the end of January.
The release is asking for help, for people to step up and volunteer for the chamber board, and asked for the public and members to be patient while the chamber rebuilds, board members are found, and their website is being updated.
The chamber posted a “to do” and timeline list for the next few weeks to get the organization up and running again, including board recruitment through the 14th with voting to be done by the 17th and announced to the members on the 24th; an executive committee to be formed by the 28th; board training and retreat on March 5th and 6th to concentrate on rules, responsibilities, hiring of an executive director, and event evaluations, among many others.
The goal, according to the release, is to build integrity and trust and a strong chamber in Buffalo that members and the community is proud of and supports.
Nominations for the board and interest in the advisory committee can be done through the State Chamber of Commerce, and if no interest is shown, they said the question needs to be asked if the community even wants a chamber in Buffalo.
