Candidates Filing for Seats on Jo Co Special Districts

With the deadline to file set for Monday, August 29 at 5 p.m., Candidates are stepping up to file for the special districts in the November general election in Johnson County.

As of Friday Afternoon, candidates had already filed to run for the cemetery district, school district, hospital and fire districts among others.

Johnson County Clerk Vickie Edelman provided the information Friday, and was expecting more candidates to file on Monday before the deadline.

There are two seats available on the Johnson County Fire District #1 board; the Powder River Conservation District; and the Powder River Fire District.

Three seats are available on the Cemetery District; Clear Creek Conservation District; Hospital District; Rural Health Care District; and the Senior Citizen Service District.

There are four seats available on the Johnson County School District board.

Cemetery District: Liz Graves, Carolyn Fox, John Zorbas.

Clear Creek Conservation District: Jay Foss, Ryan Fieldgrove, Virgie Watt.

Hospital District: Tom Holt.

Johnson County Fire District #1: Amanda Hulet, Paul Kozisek.

Powder River Conservation District: Kevin Lund, Tom Harlan.

Powder River Fire District: Matt Carr, Steve Haines.

Rural Health Care District: Britni Camino, Tiddle Camino, Mark Haines, Jim Hicks, Adam Michelena, Mark Schueler.

Johnson County School District #1: Anita Bartlett, Kesa Knudsvig-Andrews, Paul Rickett.

Senior Citizen Services District: Margaret Fraley, Dan Gay, Mark Wilson.
