In this month’s report to the Johnson County School board, Superintendent Charles Auzqui talked about the District and Community Safety Partnership, which is a collection of individuals working on school safety issues.

Those involved include himself, Buffalo Police Chief Sean Bissett, Sheriff Rod Odenbach, the county attorney’s office and school principals.

He said in his written report that they had staff and administrative training on drugs and what is happening in the community and what to look for; how to identify an individual under the influence; protocols development with schools and law enforcement concerning death threats; and defining bullying.

The group has tentatively scheduled their next meeting in 4 to 6 weeks.
