UW Brings Science, Art Together

A University of Wyoming program, funded by a National Science Foundation grant, is working to exemplify how two fields that are not commonly associated can actually enhance each other. The program titled Science Loves Art aims to bring science to life via art with a statewide reach according to a news release.

As the 5 year, $20 million NSF grant has a main focus on studying microbiomes, this program has developed kits that include all the supplies needed for 16 pieces of art in addition to a handout that explains how the art ties to microbes. Over 1,000 kits have been distributed so far with plans to hand out 2,000 more in the works.
