Someone’s idea of a ‘sick’ joke could result in criminal charges.

The Rosebud County Sheriff’s Office in Montana says sometime between midnight and 4:15am Friday (July 22nd), a thief or thieves gained entry into an ambulance in Ashland and stole it.

The driver of the stolen ambulance didn’t bother to open the garage door where it was stored and decided to drive through it.

Sometime on Saturday, a citizen found the ambulance ditched near Lame Deer, which is about 20 miles away from where it was stolen.

The Rosebud County Sheriff says the outside of the ambulance suffered some minor damage, but has not yet checked the inside, because the ambulance is being secured for evidence reasons.

A list of suspects has been narrowed down.

The town of Ashland had a backup ambulance, so it was not without emergency medical services.
