The Wyoming State Quilt Guild (WSQG) celebrated its 25th Silver Jubilee on Friday, July 15 at the Sheridan College. There was a formal/semi-formal evening with a dinner at Thorne Rider dining hall to honor the founding mothers of the WSQG who attended the event.
Around 235 registered quilters from throughout Wyoming as well as from neighboring states attended and took the classes and displayed their quilts. Lyn Bennet, registrar of the event:
There were three national instructors; John Flynn, Red Lodge, Montana, whose quilting hobby became his profession. He is the author of four quilting books.
Linda J. Hahn, of Palm Bay, Florida, has written nine books, and is best known for her unique technique for creating perfect New York Beauty Blocks on the first attempt, using just one pin.
Lea McComas, Golden, Colorado, does portrait quilting and her quilts have been exhibited around the world and featured in numerous publications.
There were several regional teachers as well teaching many different techniques.
Kandi Davis, Chairman of the Quilt Wyoming 2022 Committee that put on the show explains:
Davis was enthusiastic about the vendors who displayed their products.
The extensive Quilt Show and a Vendor’s Mall were open to the public and free of charge throughout the weekend.
