Clearmont Day, on Saturday, June 18, was deemed a success by Amy Rowe, coordinator, and her son, Marcus Schneck.
Winners of the fun run were: Jason Watts, Buffalo, 10K; Sarah Tarver, Gillette, 5K; and Marcus Schneck was the only entry in the mile.
The Soap Box derby was won by Casey Ambler of Buffalo, with Marcus Schneck second and Alex Schneck, third.
There were 16 vendors, selling jewelry, books, handicrafts, soaps and bath salts, as well as a local real estate agent and several candidates running for various offices.
Music was provided by Mike Kuzara, keyboard, and his grandson, Dakota Thibeault, on banjo and guitar. Lunch was buffalo hamburgers donated by Powder River Energy Foundation, and potluck provided by the Clearmont Day Committee.
As Sheridan Post article on August 19, 1919, stated, …….and at the end of the day you could say that you were glad to be there because you saw some one that you had not seen for some time, or that you saw something which taught you something. That is what Clearmont Day is all about.
