Aaron PalmerThere has been an uptick in COVID cases in Sheridan County in recent weeks and in response, Sheridan Memorial Hospital scheduled a media conference Thursday morning to give the lates information and to answer questions.
On hand at the conference were CEO Mike McCafferty, Chief Nursing Officer Cathy Bealer, and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Luke Goddard.
McCafferty gave the latest on COVID numbers in the county and the census at the hospital.
McCafferty said there has been an increase in testing in the last week, with an uptick in current positive cases.
There are also three positive cases with employees at the hospital.
He also reported a 51.4% full vaccination rate overall in the community, with 91% of those over 65 being fully vaccinated.
Although masks are not required to be worn by visitors, they are recommended at this time, with one exception given by McCafferty.
The facility is monitoring the situation and screening visitors at entry points, but changes will be made as they become necessary.
We will have more on the media conference from Sheridan Memorial Hospital in an upcoming story.
