Ron RichterThe City of Sheridan owns the property at 121 South Main Street and has historically leased the building to the Downtown Sheridan Association under a two-year lease agreement that automatically renews. The City Council at their meeting Monday night approved several changes to the lease. City Attorney Brendon Kerns says the DSA recently requested an amendment to the lease.
Kerns says that under the amended agreement, the City will now maintain the plumbing, electrical, structural and support systems, HVAC and roof, provided the DSA pay the first $500 of any such repair.
Kerns says the last change to the lease pertains to insurance.
The vote to amend the lease was not unanimous, as Councilor Kristen Jennings voted against the proposed changes to the contract.
