County Applies for Vacation of Brooks Street

Sheridan County has ratified a letter and application to the City of Sheridan requesting the vacation of right of way or public easement on South Brooks Street between West Whitney Street and West Burkitt Street.

The county commission is requesting the vacation for the safety of pedestrian traffic entering and leaving through the northwest entrance of the courthouse complex.

In addition to the application, the county has asked the city to waive all fees associated with the vacation.

According to the application, if the vacation is granted by the city, all existing utilities will be protected with easements.
