Now that Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon has signed the recent state budget, it’s time for many counties and municipalities to begin assembling budgets of their own.
Although still in the initial process, Sheridan County Commissioners have already begun thinking about the upcoming work they will have to complete in tandem with department heads and the county clerks and treasure’s office.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, Sheridan County Commissioner Tom Ringley spoke on the upcoming budget process.
Those elected officials and department heads then submit their prepared budgets to the county commission. Presentations are given and questions are asked by the commission on expenditures.
The County budget process begins in March of each year with the distribution of budget request worksheets and ends when the County Commissioners approve the budget.
