Taking time to self care amid COVID-19

May is national Mental Health month. As COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions begin to ease, taking time to check on one’s own mental health is critical.
That’s according to VA physician Dr. Vivianne Tran. During an interview on Public Pulse, Dr. Tran shared techniques in reminding oneself to take the time to self care during these stressful times amid COVID-19.
According to Mental Health America, 44 million adults in the U.S. suffer from mental illness and 56% of U.S. adults suffering from mental illness do not receive treatment.
Dr. Tran went on to remind residents that it is important to care for oneself first so people remain healthy and able to care for friends and loved ones.
