cvannoyThere was a full house at Trail End State Historic Site on Saturday November 23, as over 25 people came to help decorate the historic home of Senator John B. Kendrick in preparation for the Christmas season and open house.
Sharie Shada, Site Superintendent assigned different rooms to those attending, including the drawing room, dining room, foyer, ballroom and bedrooms.
Shada talked about the community decorating day and the upcoming open house which will be held December 6, 7 and 8. Admission is $4 and children are free but must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are not required in advance for the event.
Two of those attending were Elizabeth Keegan and Xavier Bishop. This is Keegan’s second year and Bishop’s first time coming to decorate.
Spencer Prevatt and Kathy Prevatt have been helping to decorate the Mansion for three years.
He said that he liked Wyoming over Arizona because while the winters were cooler, so were the summers. “I would choose this over Arizona.”
Youngsters enjoyed helping to decorate, and Jayme Ackerman and her daughter Amara, have been attending the event for two years.
Lunch was provided, and now the mansion, with the help of the community, has put on its holiday attire.
