Masks Now Required in Sheridan County

All adults in Sheridan County are now required to wear masks.
An order requiring face coverings – masks – was issued earlier this week by Public Health Officer Dr. Ian Hunter and posted on the Sheridan County website, but the order couldn’t go into effect until it was signed by Wyoming State Health Officer Dr. Alexia Harrist.
That has now happened, and the order officially goes into effect Wednesday and will remain in effect through Dec.. 4.
The order requires all adults within Sheridan County to wear facial coverings in certain places open to the public, including businesses, with some exceptions.
Dr. Harrist has approved similar orders in 11 other Wyoming counties.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, people infected with COVID-19 may not have symptoms, but they can still be contagious. In addition, many individuals may only experience mild symptoms and not recognize they are infected and contagious.
Wearing a face cover helps prevent the spread of droplets that might be infectious. Wearing facing covers, combined with physical distancing of at least six feet, staying home when sick and frequent hand washing can help minimize the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions, and more than 40% of the US population pays NO federal taxes. Are you suggesting that a mask mandate should be a state law? The virus is not going away.

Trust the “science”. People need to research, these people who are telling us what to only listen to the science that fits their agenda. I urge people to definently do their own research and not hold faith in people who are not disclosing all information other than what is fitting.

Did anyone read the order? The date the order expires is December 4, not January 4 as stated in the article. If I’m mistaken then the wrong order is attached to the article.

I guess I don’t understand why you wouldn’t wear one for your neighbors in Sheridan.I appreciate those who do. Furthermore, why do people feel inclined to beat up on Dr. Hunter who is actually trying to help our community? Whether you agree or not, he is not trying to harm anyone. Thank you, Dr. Hunter

Really? Sure the order should’ve honestly been put to a community vote especially as it will financially impact local business’s impacting jobs among a host of other issues but I hope you’re not suggesting or implying everyone should lie and exploit the guidelines meant for those who suffer legitimate medical or mental health issues simply because its a way to avoid wearing a mask. Sure it would work for awhile but eventually it would only result in health officials pushing for other methods of coverings if not stricter health orders like Teton is trying to pass on gatherings. Protest or express your displeasure another way rather then complicating matters for others.

Show me, Dr Hunter, the peer reviewed data/study that confirms masks absolutely stop Covid. You can’t because there aren’t any. I’ve spent over 30 years in all facets of healthcare so I know from whence I speak. SHOW ME THE DATA. You might want to check out our Governor since he seems to have a enlarged prostate as does the rest of the Ruling Class. What’s the ICD 10 Code for “rectal cranial inversion”? Got to look that one up.

Social distance is best way to avoid this terrible disease that is so deadly, most have to be tested to know they have it, and is 99.4% survival rate…. If this county was really concerned about stopping the spread, they would shut the WHOLE county DOWN! Also why don’t the businesses have temp check machines in the entry of each establishments. With the BILLIONS of dollar$ that the federal Gov. has given them, instead of company stock buybacks and putting it in their pockets?C

I cannot believe all the lame brained reactions to this order, not mandate. Nothing is 100%, but mask wearing & distancing is the best defense until a vaccine is available. You will probably have a fit about that too. Dr Hunter is a very smart sincere doctor & does not deserve this abuse, but we should be thankful a person of his caliber is willing to do this unpleasant job.

One can use a homemade mask using double layers of cloth and wash the mask frequently after use.It is not rocket science.I suspect the propaganda from select news sources is pushing all this denial about masks.

No he is not. I went to doctor Hunter with pain in my feet and he told me a simple blood test would tell me what was wrong but there was nothing wrong with me go home. A few months later when I could barely walk I went to Doctor Strahn and he ran the simple blood test and we found out I was diabetic. So the great doctor hunter is not to be trusted in my opinion and you think he should be trusted. I say you are wrong.

Why dont we just shut the damn country down? What ever happened to “Slow the Curve?” Why wear a mask? Just stay home! If you really are worried about catching this deadly disease, just stay home and you have a much better chance of not catching it. The mask isnt 100% but if we all just never leave home, we wont catch it. Shut it down! The virus doesnt spread, people spread the virus. People are the problem, stay away from them.

It is our American right to decide if we want to wear a face mask or not. We are not under Marshall law. Stop tring to be a big hero and think you’re saving people when its confirmed that face mask do not work. Either man up or lock your paranoid self in your home. If it’s your time to go then its your time to go.
