Clearmont Town Council met on Monday, November 20, with several items on the agenda.

Mayor Chris Schock said that they are still working on Well #3, and added that Barry Crago has been very helpful.

Schock said that a dinner with the legislators will be held at Arvada-Clearmont School on Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. Residents can come and express concerns with their elected representatives.  The school asks for an RSVP by Nov. 30 to make sure there is enough food. Schock added that the legislative forum will be at Sheridan City Hall in council chambers on Dec. 6. He added the Community School lunch is on Dec. 6th

All Clearmont residents are urged to decorate the outside of their homes for the upcoming Christmas holiday, and the town will award turkeys to those who decorate their houses.  The town will hang the towns decorations sometime after Thanksgiving.

Councilman Jay Buhr reported that the Clear Creek FFA will be selling smoked turkeys for Christmas. The turkeys are between 15-16 pounds and sell for $50. Funds raised will go to the FFA Scholarship Fund. Anyone wishing to purchase a turkey can call Arvada-Clearmont School, 758-4412.

The council approved to accept the only bid received for a John Deere riding lawn mower, $16,974 from C&B Equipment in Sheridan.

The town also approved to present a gift certificate to Tom Weber for his help to the town.

Ordinance #121, concerning town utility rates was passed on the first reading, water for residents using from zero to 3000 gallons will be $32; and sewer rates will $13 per month.  The second reading will be at the Council Special meeting on Dec. 11 at 6 p.m.

Schock added that new clerk Kirstie Auzqui is doing ‘a great job so far.’

Next meeting will be Dec. 18 at 6 p.m. at town hall.  Sheriff Levi Dominguez was a guest at the Monday night meeting.
