Ron RichterA City of Sheridan employee will be wrapping up her career working for the City this week, a career that has spanned over a quarter of a century. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
Bev Leichtnam has worked for the City of Sheridan for 25 1⁄2 years. She will be retiring Friday. She’s worked 10 years with the Police Department, eight as an evidence technician and two as a community service officer, 10 years with streets/operations, and the past 5 ½ years in the Mayor’s office as the Governmental Relations Specialist. Leichtnam talked about one of her most memorable experiences while at the Police Department.
Leichtnam said if she would have been younger when working at the PD, she would have tested to be an officer because she liked helping people. When she moved to the streets division, Leichtnam said she was able to help the community in a lot more areas.
Leichtnam said she has really enjoyed the political aspect of working in the mayor’s office as a liaison between the mayor, council, city administrator and staff.
As far as what Leichtnam has planned following her final day of work on Friday?
Leichtnam said she will focus on her grandchildren and family and that she has a lot of projects in the hopper and she looks forward to gardening, camping and exploring this summer.
